Alternative Transportation to CSU Campus

bus waiting
  • Transfort: Fort Collins local bus service offers a multitude of stops close to student living areas and keeps schedules that compliment class schedules. Free to full time students, this mass transportation system cuts down on pollution and brings you right to the center of campus.
  • Carpool: Get a bunch of friends who need to be on campus at the same time and share rides. A Carpool reduces pollution and provides enjoyable conversation on the way to class. In addition, you can split the cost with all your buddies. A free carpool matching service is available through SMARTTrips.
  • SMARTTrips: is a public program whose goal is to reduce automobile dependency and promote the use of alternative transportation in Northern Colorado.
  • Commuting from Denver? Denver Commuter Services may be able to help you join a carpool or vanpool to Fort Collins.
  • Bicycle: Bicycling offers another convenient way to get to campus. Cycling creates no pollution, improves health, and bicycles are easy and cheap to maintain. There are bike racks located all across campus.

A fifteen or more minute walk is also a great way to stay healthy and reach your target heart rate. In the evening, Campus Service Officers can provide a SafeWalk to your destination on or near campus by calling (970) 491-1155.
